Vigilante Joker, also known as "John Doe" before his transformation, is a unique interpretation of The Joker featured in Telltale's Batman game series. He first appears in Batman: The Telltale Series (2016). Initially, John Doe is a mentally unstable but seemingly harmless Arkham Asylum inmate.
He becomes an ally to Bruce Wayne, providing insight into Gotham's criminal underworld and assisting in various investigations. Doe's fascination with Batman gradually intensifies into a desire to be his partner, leading to a tumultuous friendship.
Through a series of events orchestrated by Harley Quinn, Doe undergoes a transformation, fully embracing his Joker persona. However, this Joker is different: He believes he can be a force for good in Gotham, albeit through his twisted and violent methods. Depending on the player's choices, he can either become a ruthless villain or a troubled vigilante seeking redemption.
